Hands of Hope and Family Promise

March Food for Families Hosts Local Organizations that Help the Homeless

On March 24th our monthly Food for Families program hosted Jim Pierce and Enid Logan. Jim Pierce is the past president of Pike County Hands of Hope. We wrote an article earlier this year on Hands of Hope as a beneficiary of our Soup-er Bowl Sale. Enid Logan is a representative from Family Promise of the Poconos. Family Promise will be taking over the mission and operations of Hands of Hope.

Left to Right: Brother Knight Paul Schatteman, Jim Pierce, Brother Knight Tony Perito, Nathaniel White, Enid Logan, and Brother Knight Gene Burns.

The dinner was a great success with thirty-five attendees. We served spaghetti and home made meatballs. But the star was by far Brother John Contrera’s coconut flan. Our next Food for Families program will be on April 28th at 5pm.
